Delivering information, technical assistance, and capacity building on reducing industrial emissions in emerging economies

Nairobi, Kenya - The time and expertise needed to screen climate mitigation technologies is a burden to government staff and economic development planning experts in emerging economies. CTC-N's open innovation model accelerates matchmaking between local needs and available technologies. Issues such as cost, scale, and complexity of climate mitigation technologies have often not been adequately tested in the context and capacity of low resource environments.

The Centre for Science and Technology Innovations' (CSTI's) philosophy is that technical experts in low resource environments can create breakthrough mitigation results when shown how to describe technology adaptation needs in bankable terms.

Hypothetical Example: a Direct Air Capture machine will require 3X more maintenance costs due to irregular electricity supply. Solar power supply is not sufficiently balanced to keep machines at the lowest cost operational state. Therefore, a localized biogas power supply is a necessary investment at 5% additional cost.

CSTI will work with local technical experts to develop bankable models on bankable emissions mitigation technologies in the construction sector.
